We do believe that the kingdom of God has real implications for justice in our society, and therefore that we are called to use our voices and actions to seek that justice. That may sometimes involve using our voices to encourage the political powers in our country to pursue more just policies. Such engagement with political powers will always be strictly nonpartisan.
We are part of the Evangelical Fellowship of Canada, which has from time to time submitted official letters to governments regarding various social issues. Vineyard Canada has not always been a signatory of all of those letters, but when we do interact with political powers it is generally through our participation in the EFC.
Individual Vineyard churches are often involved in nonpartisan advocacy and activity to address issues in their local regions.
I have 3 questions
1) Does Vineyard Canada have any political affiliations with any federal, provincial or municipal party in the past 10 years?
2) As an association have they ever donated money to a candidate, party or a bill?
3) Have they ever lobbied the Canadian government, either as a part of a bigger entity or just by themselves?
I couldn't find anything positively or negativity about these questions. Asking because I am curious and I want to know more as my church is considering joining the vineyard family. Thank you!
