Helping Families in Venezuela

Montreal is home to people from all over the world, and our church is a reflection of that. We have several people in our faith community who have friends and family in Venezuela, so when we heard about the political instability and economic hardships there, we wanted to help. Through the connections of the people in our church, we were able to send funds to two churches in Venezuela. Last week, Julia (who just returned from visiting Venezuela), reported that her church used the funds we sent to distribute food to needy families and to set up a fund for emergency medical expenses. The money we sent was not a lot, but it is helping. And perhaps more importantly, the churches in Venezuela know that a group of Jesus followers in Canada cares about them and is praying for them.
