Leon and Pam met in January of 1982 in Kansas City, Mo at the Nazarene Theological Seminary. Their first date was the middle of March, engaged by the middle of April, married by the end of May and started pastoring in June. They say that sums up their crazy 38 year whirlwind journey.

At the age of 19 Leon heard an audible call from the Lord to "go to Bible college and prepare to preach the gospel". Pam heard an audible call from the Lord to "prepare to be a missionary" when she was 19. Leon started in Red Deer, AB and Pam started from a ranch in Ronan, Montana.

After their time at seminary in Kansas City, they returned to Canada and pastored in a Holiness denomination where they encountered the Holy Spirit at a conference and felt called to "follow Jesus". That lead them to intern with Rick Olmstead in Fort Collins, CO. and then help with a church plant in Seattle, WA. Leon and Pam have been involved in or lead in the Vineyard for the past 30 years.

Over the years, their love of simplicity and the desire to see freedom in people's lives has never changed. It has caused them to attend and become leaders in Freedom Session, and to be certified as Gottman trainers in The 7 Principles That Make Marriage Work, plus various other training courses.

They often ask themselves if they are getting too old to make a difference but sense the Lord saying "you're not done yet". Leon and Pam long to see the Kingdom come in greater ways and pray this daily and have set their hearts to participate in everything the Lord allows.

They have 3 adult kids, 2 married, and 2 grandkids and they to laugh and have fun and most of all they like each other
