In this second conversation, Carol Lovejoy and David Ruis dig into the importance of story – locating our personal stories within God’s story and learning to really live in the present. It’s tempting to live with the backward glance or the future driving us, but to really practice being a people of the Way we need to embody the teachings of Jesus in our everyday lives. Let this conversation challenge you with what is real.
Carol Anne Lovejoy is an 85-year-old Indigenous Elder and longtime member of Vineyard Canada. She has been faithfully serving as part of Harvest Vineyard Church in Edmonton, Alberta, since it was first planted. Born and raised in Edmonton as the fifth of nine children, Carol received Jesus into her heart as a young child and, 54 years ago, experienced a profound life-changing and healing encounter with God that reshaped her journey. A devoted intercessor, she has been involved in reconciliation work across Canada, the United States, Israel, and other nations for more than 30 years. Carol is a mother of four, grandmother of six, and great-grandmother of nine, and considers her greatest investment to be loving God wholeheartedly and living out Christ in the heart of her family.
